Diagnostic test
Resting electrocardiogram
A recording of the heart's electrical activity, using a few sticky electrodes placed on the chest, arms and legs. You lie down for the test. It takes a few minutes and causes no discomfort. The cardiologist reports on the trace the same day.
No special preparation is needed.
